This book is designed as a study guide for either students or practitioners needing additional information on basic TCM theory. It is also designed to be extremely helpful for those preparing for the basic TCM theory portion of the NCCAOM exam. The book is divided into seven tests containing 125 questions each. About the authors:
Dr Zhong Bai-song Ph.D, L.Ac, graduated from Luzhou Medical College in 1983. He received his Ph.D of internal medicine at Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1997. He taught, worked, and researched in the teaching hospital of Chengdu University for more than 20 years. He has published several medical textbooks in China and more than 30 papers on modern research in Chinese medicine. He is currently an Associate Professor at the American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM), Houston, TX.
Ma Tao, Ph.D., L.Ac, graduated from Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1994. She received her M.S. in trauma medicine and orthopedics in 1997 and her Ph.D. in internal medicine in 2000 at Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Dr. Ma has more than 10 years teaching and clinical experience. She’s been teaching TCM fundamentals and herbology review courses at the American College of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) since 2001, and she’s very experienced in helping students sharpen their learning skills, mastering the key points, and tackling the difficult points when they are preparing for internships and the NCCAOM exams.
You Bing, L.Ac., M.S., DAAPM, received both his M.D. (China) degree (1993) and Master of Medicine Science of Acupuncture and Moxibustion degree (1996) from Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Sichuan, China. With his enthusiasm for medicine and his over 10 years teaching and clinical experience, he enjoys training students at the American College of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) in Houston, Texas, including teaching review courses on the fundamentals of TCM and the acupuncture preparation module for the NCCAOM examination since 2000. Dr. You is the published author of several books on tuina and Chinese herbology. He is currently an Associate Professor and Assistant Academic Dean at ACAOM.
