Not a theory book, but a book written with the purpose of easy clinical access, this text will serve as quick reference and reminder for students looking for information on acupoints and treatments. In addition to basic data, such as a section on TCM Zang Fu diagnosis, the author has included his clinically based findings. The descriptions include concise sections on acupoint energetics, the command points, the primary meridians, the extraordinary vessels, the sinew and divergent meridians (channels), and common techniques such as ear, scap, electro acupuncture, moxibustion and ion pumping. The book is one of a handful of books available in English that presents information from the perspective of Taoist energetics. For example, the point energetics are Taoist in nature and the sections on the secondary vessels are based completely on a Taoist interpretation. The section covering differentiation of syndromes is presented with lists and columns for ease of access. A final section covers Shang Han Lun differentiation. The presentation is appealing for students in clinical settings as it compiles pertinent facts and numbers that must be constantly utilized.
