"Flying Star" is a picturesque term for changing tyupes of subtle qi energy present in the living environment. Its study is concerned with qi quality, direction, and flow, particularly over time, as measured by the Chinese solar calendar. The location or direction of entry of qi is also important and is measured with a special compass. Its assumption is that there is a very real link between the present time, the time a building was built or occupied, its directional orientation, and the consequent changing luck of its occupants. The nine flying stars are essentially qi energy confiurations that move from location to location inside a building, chaning position over time. The application of flying star feng shui is to assure that important functions are done in rooms or parts of the building with favorable configurations, and to influence these configurations when their aspects are not favorable. Using numerous tables, figures, and helpful discussions, the author provides information on how to channel the power of the flying stars.
