Kyoto Journal - Perspectives from Asia has gone digital!
A quarterly independent non-profit publication of 96-104 pages per volume (around 32 color pages). It is published four times a year, formatted in standard letter size (8.5 x 11"). We really enjoyed this magazine and wanted to make it possible for our readers to do the same. Kyoto Journal is an all-volunteer quarterly, publishing since 1986, offering alternative and thought-provoking perspectives on Asia through interviews, essays, translations, humor, fiction, poetry, and reviews, and accompanied by memorable photo-essays, original illustrations, and award-winning design. Reviewers say, "A graphic jolt of energy, each page is surprising and new" ... "Informative, lyrical and creative. Brilliant." A 1998 Utne Reader Independent Press Award winner. First-time subscribers are offered a bonus issue free of charge, as an extra welcome gift from the publishers.
Avid readers should note that back issues of the paper print format are still available. These include favorites such as The Sacred Mountains of Asia, The Silk Road: From Samarkand to Nara, Word, Inaka: The Japanese Countryside, Unbound: Gender in Asia, Transience, and Tea. Please contact info@rewingbooks.com if you are interested to order any specific back issues.
